The inspiration for the design was drawn from the character of Lambrusco itself. As a light sparkling wine with a refreshing character, ShumiLoveDesign aimed to mirror these qualities in the visual presentation of the bottle. The design creates an airy and light feeling that not only reflects the product's main properties but also allows consumers to identify its geographic origin.
What sets this design apart is its ability to capture the sparkling character of Lambrusco at first glance. The use of traditional patterns, accentuated by additional post-printing processes, emphasizes the festive and light spirit of the drink. All elements in the design adhere to the established traditions of Italian sparkling wine packaging, precisely identifying the product's region of origin.
The design was realized using special artistic paper with embossing, foil stamping, and tactile varnish. The label measures 120 mm x 90 mm, while the neck collar is 110 mm x 25 mm. The design was developed between April and October 2014 in Moldova.
ShumiLoveDesign faced the challenge of creating an image that sits precisely in the middle of two opposite trends in packaging design - tradition and modernity. The goal was to present the recognizable character of traditional Italian sparkling wine packaging in a new, more contemporary, and attractive way.
The design was awarded Silver in the A' Packaging Design Award in 2017. This prestigious accolade is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
